Golf in Vietnam is especially intriguing. Though there are only about 40 courses throughout the country, and some of those tracks hold world-class distinction. The country is roughly the size of California, with Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon) in the southern part of the country. Nearly a third of the golf courses are located in the south.

Vietnam has won ‘Asia’s best golf destination 2018’ at the World Golf Awards, the Vietnam National Tourism Administration (VNAT) under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has announced.

As a part of the Nicklaus Companies’ role in Vietnam to help develop the game of golf and design courses across the country, the BRG Group has announced plans to begin work on its seventh Nicklaus Design golf course.

The Asian Tour will be heading back to Vietnam for this first time since 2015 for the Ho Tram Players Championship, which will be staged from December 6 to 9.

Schmidt-Curley Design has been hired by FLC Group to lead the development of the complex near the city of Dong Hoi in the central part of the country.

Scheduled for Saturday, April 21, 2018, the 12th Swing for the Kids tournament will tee-off at Kings Course at Kings Island Golf Resort in Son Tay district, about 36 kilometres from the city centre.

Award-winning Schmidt-Curley Design has completed grassing at their latest course in Vietnam, named FLC Ha Long Bay , set high above the old town of Ha Long and overlooking the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage-listed region of Ha Long Bay.

The BRG Group’s four existing golf clubs have joined the Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF) as Golf Course Facility Members.
